ITEM TITLE: Set date of June 21, 2016, for a public hearing and approval of an
I nterlocal Agreement for the 2016 JAG Grant

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Department of Justice notified the City of Yakima that it is eligible to apply for the 2016 JAG
grant in the amount of $63,434. Further, the City is required to share $12,000 of these funds with
Yakima County. The City will use this grant funding for anti -crime emphasis patrols, while the
County will use the funds to purchase police equipment. This grant requires a public hearing and
an interlocal agreement before submission.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
