ITEM TITLE: Resolution Declaring Attached List of Vehicles and Personal Property
Surplus and Authorizing Disposal of Said Surplus Vehicles and Property
Owned by the City Of Yakima.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The City of Yakima has various used vehicles and . personal property, excess to the needs of
the City of Yakima (reference enclosed listing). The list of surplus items has been circulated
to all City divisions and any item that can be utilized will be removed from the Surplus List.
Council approval is requested to declare these items surplus and to authorize the City
Manager to dispose of these items in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima to
include auction /sale by a means deemed appropriate by the City Manager, such as "eBay ",
local auction or sealed bid, recycling, sending to State of Washington Surplus or donating or
ID transferring to other government entities or qualified non - profit corporations.
Under the terms and conditions of the Yakima City Charter, City officials and employees are
prohibited from participating in surplus auctions directly or otherwise as a buyer or buyer's
agent.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests that Council adopt Resolution declaring attached list of used
vehicles and personal property surplus, and authorizing disposal in a manner which best
benefits the City.

• A RESOLUTION declaring the attached list of used vehicles and personal property surplus to the
needs of the City of Yakima, and authorizing the City Manager to dispose of these
items in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima to include auction or sale by
a means deemed appropriate by the City Manager, such as "eBay ", local auction or
sealed bid, recycling, sending to State of Washington Surplus or donating or
transferring to other government entities or qualified non - profit corporations.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns various used vehicles and personal property (reference
enclosed listing) for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the
needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the list of surplus items has been circulated to all City divisions and any item that can
be utilized will be removed from the Surplus List; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to dispose of said
used vehicles and personal property, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned various used vehicles and personal property
to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima.
