Action Items
Economic Development Agreement with Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY)
Council member Adkison made a motion to move the resolution between the City of
Yakima and the Downtown Association of Yakima forward to full council. Coffey
seconded. Motion carried by unanimous vote to bring agreement to the April 6 th Council
Meeting for full Council consideration.
Economic Development Agreement with YCDA (New Vision)
Council member Gutierrez made a motion to move the resolution between the City of
Yakima and YCDA to full Council with the added reporting criteria and the request for a
semiannual presentation to Council on updates from the organization. Coffey
seconded. Motion carried by unanimous vote to bring agreement to the April 6t" Council
Meeting for full Council consideration.
• Incubator /Public Market Project
Council will continue to explore funding opportunities for this project. It was requested
that this topic be included on the next agenda along with a request for sending out the
recently conducted feasibility study to interested parties.
• RECON Conference in Las Vegas
Hawkins notified Council that he will be attending the conference and noted that there
was funding for one of the Council members to attend.
Strategic Economic Development Planning Conference
Coffey requested that Hawkins initiate a meeting between Economic Development
partners to develop a cohesive marketing plan and strategy for Economic
Development in Yakima as a collective. It was requested that the following agencies
and organizations be invited; RCDR, YCDA, YCC, HCC, and the City. The request is
for the meeting to occur before June 2016.
• Resolution for 56th and Summitview Avenue Tiger Mart location
Hawkins notified Council that the resolution to surplus the property and for the City
Manager to sign the purchase and sale agreement will be brought to the full Council at
the April 6th Council meeting for full Council consideration.
