UNIE ,EAS, emergencies can occur at any time that require law enforcement, fire or
emergency medical services; and
UNI�REAS, when an emergency occurs it is the prompt response of law enforcement
officers, firefighters, andemergency medical service providers that is critical to the protection of
fife and preservation of property; and
UNI�REAS, the safety of our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency
medical service providers is dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained
from citizens who telephone the Yakima County's E911 Communications Center, known as
SunComm; and
UNIE ,EAS, emergency call - takers and dispatchers are the first and most critical
contact our citizens have with emergency services; and
UNIE EAS, emergency call - takers and dispatchers are the single vitallink for our law
enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical service providers by monitoring their
activities by radio, providing them information and ensuring their safety; and
UNIE EAS, emergency call - takers and dispatchers of SunComm have contributed
substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires, and treatment of patients;
and
UNIE ,EAS, each emergency call -taker and dispatcher has e,�hibited compassion,
understanding, professionalism, and displayed untiring efforts during their assigned sh fts in
the past year;
WOW ZVIWETORE, I, Avina Gutierrez, Mayor of the City of Ta kima and on behalf
of the City Council, do hereby proclaim the weekofAprd 10 -16, 2016 as
