Subject: Response to Jim Evan's complaint about Weeds in the Alpine
Way development (Doty Property)
At the July 20, 2010 City Council, Jim Evans complained to the City Council that
weeds along the streets in the Doty property constitute a fire hazard.
On Wednesday July 28, 2010 City of Yakima Parks and Recreation Division
employees trimmed the weeds from along Summitview and 45 Avenue.
However, City Code Inspectors notified three property owners of the requirement
in the Yakima Municipal Code 8.76.025 for adjoining property owners to maintain
• the frontage of public streets from the edge of the property to the .travel way of
the street.
