WIFEREAS, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CXXAs) are essential -
to America's healthcare system, providing high-quality, cost-effective anesthesia
care for 150 years who safety administer approximatel-y 40 million anesthetics to
patients each year; and
`WittEREAS, CXXAs are the primary providers of anesthesia care in rural -
America, enabling healthcare facilities in these medically underserved areas to offer
obstetrical-, surgical-, and trauma stabilization services and in some states, CVVAs
are the sore providers in nearry 100% of the rural -hospital -s; and
`WittEREAS, CXXAs practices in every setting in which anesthesia is
delivered traditional- hospital- surgical- suites and obstetrical- delivery rooms, the
offices of dentists, podiatrists, ophthal-mol-ogists, and plastic surgeons, ambulatory
surgical- centers, J.S. UVlil-itary and Public Wealth Services and Veterans
Administration medical -facilities; and
fEREAS, nurse anesthetists have been the main provider of anesthesia
care to J.S. military personnel -on the front Cines since WWI, incl-uding current
conflicts in the UVliddl-e East with nurses being the first to provide anesthesia to
wounded soldiers during the civil -war,
