A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager to grant a 2 5% adjustment in base pay for
the Non - represented Employee Group in 2016
WHEREAS, the City Manager met with members of the Non - represented Employee
Group to discuss wages and compensation with respect to the unrepresented employee
group; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, the City Manager and the Non - represented
Employee Group representatives have determined that in order to avoid wage compression
problems between unrepresented employees and represented employees within the City a
compensation adjustment was necessary to provide for similar wage adjustments on behalf
of the Non - represented Group as those previously granted to the represented employees
within the City; and
WHEREAS, the proposed 2 5% adjustment in wages for the Non - represented Group
members is consistent with adjustments previously granted to collective bargaining groups
and is in alignment with the City's five year plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to
provide a 2.5% wage adjustment on behalf of the Non - Represented Group in order to avoid
compensation compression issues and to provide an equal base pay compensation
adjustment within both the represented and unrepresented employee groups effective
January 1, 2016; Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima is authorized and directed to grant a 2.5%
adjustment in base pay for Non - represented Employee Group effective January 1, 2016
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 17th day of November 2015.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
