RE: Yakima County Gang Commission
On May 18th, the Board of Yakima County Cormnissiomrs (BOCC}- rrassed Ordinance 4 creating the -
Yakima. County Gang Commission (YCGC). This n nn- regal„ `ury hnr3y ha3 been Created to provide support, technical
assistance, coordination, consultation, and other resources to encouiage communities to reduce gang activity and
promote healthy and safe environments in Yakima County.
The YCGC will consist of a representative of each of the fourteen cities and towns in Yakima County, a
representative of the Yakama Nation, a men-mer of the BOCC, the Yakima County Sheriff, the Yakima County
Prosecutor, and a representative of the Yakima County Superior Court.
Your community has previously indicated a willingness to participate and be represented on the YCGC. We
• request at this time you designate a member and an alternate of your community to serve on the Commission. Plea

The YCGC shall convene for its first meeting on Tuesday July 20`'' at 1:OOpm at the Yakima County 1 Street
Conference Center, located at 223 North 1 Street, Yakima WA 98901. The Gang Commission shall subsequently
meet the third Tuesday of each month at 1:OOpin. The location of each monthly meeting will rotate between the 1st
Street Conference Center and a Lower Valley City (TBD). The meetings will be open to the public and may be
broadcast on local access television.
The Board of Yakima County Commissioners would like to thank you for your willingness to participate on
the Yakima County Gang Commission and your community's interest in addressing gang issues affecting our County
and its citizens.
