ITEM TITLE: Council Nominating Committee recommendations for appointment

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The Council Nominating Committee met on October 20, 2015 and recommends the following appointments:
• Arts Commission Community Representative -- reappoint John Gasperetti and Teresa Pritchard; appoint
Erwina Peterson as Community Representative; confirm Yakima Symphony appointment of David
Rogers and Larson Gallery appointment of David Lynx
• Board of Appeals: appoint Raymond Novobielski to the journeyman plumber position
• Charter Civil Service: reappoint Beverly Warren
• Confirm Hotel/Motel -- Tourist Promotion Commission recommendations: reappointment of Connie
Webb (Comfort Suites) and appointment of Shaun Hill (Fairfield Inn and Suites) and Luis Gutierrez
(Holiday Inn Express)
• Housing Authority Board: appoint Gary Hudson

NOMINATING COMMITTEE MINUTES
October 20, 2015
Mayor's Office
Meeting convened at 5:20 p.m.
Council present: Maureen Adkison, Micah Cawley and Dave Ettl
Staff present: Sonya Claar Tee
The Committee reviewed applications and made the following recommendations:
• Arts Commission
It was Committee consensus to recommend appointment of Erwina Peterson as
community representative; confirm Yakima Symphony appointment of David Rogers;
confirm Larson Gallery appointment of David Lynx; reappoint: John Gasperetti,
Community Representative and Teresa Pritchard, Community Representative.
• Board of Appeals plumber
Cawley moved and Adkison seconded to recommend appointment of Raymond
Novobielski to the journeyman plumber position. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
• Charter Civil Service Commission
It was Committee consensus to recommend reappointment of Beverly Warren.
• Hotel /Motel — Tourist Promotion Area Commission
It was Committee consensus to recommend confirmation of the Yakima Valley Lodging
Associations nominations of Connie Webb's (Comfort Suites) reappointment and
appointment of Shaun Hill (Fairfield Inn and Suites) and Luis Gutierrez (Holiday Inn
Express).
• Housing Authority Board
It was Committee consensus to recommend appointment of Gary Hudson.
