R-2024-006 A RESOLUTION authorizing a Grant Agreement with the US. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration to provide funding assistance for Bus ITS Equipment Upgrades. WHEREAS, in 2023, the US. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) opened up a grant funding opportunity under Federal Transit Administration FY2020-2023 Section 5339(a) Small Urban - Bus Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Equipment Upgrades; and WHEREAS, Yakima Transit applied for funding on May 23, 2023, and the City of Yakima (City) was awarded a grant in the amount of$914,320 which requires a 20% match; and WHEREAS, the funding will be for the purchase and installation of software and equipment to replace Yakima Transit's existing ITS; including post-installation software updates; and WHEREAS, in order to receive this funding, it is necessary for the City and the FTA to enter into Grant Agreement WA-2023-071-00 setting forth the terms, conditions, and requirements for allocating this funding; now; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into Grant Agreement WA-2023-071-00 with US.
