A RESOLUTION awarding of Bid 12343 and authorizing purchase of hoses, nozzles,
shutoff valves and tips from Cascade Fire and Safety.
WHEREAS, the City posted and published a Notice to Bidders on October 13 and 15,
2023 in the Yakima Herald Republic, on the city's webpage, through Public Purchase.com and
by personal email that Bid No. 12343 was available for competitive bid; and
WHEREAS, bids were due November 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.; bids that were timely
received were publicly opened in City Council Chambers in Yakima, Washington; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and reviewed by Purchasing for responsiveness and the
Fire Department made Recommendation of Award to the lowest responsive and responsible
bidder; and
WHEREAS, Cascade Fire and Safety was the lowest responsive Bid received from a
responsible Bidder; Purchasing and the Fire Department recommends Award be issued to
Cascade Fire and Safety and that the City Manager approve award; and
WHEREAS, the equipment meets the needs and requirements of the City of Yakima for
this procurement, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Bid 12343 is hereby awarded and the Fire Department is hereby authorized to purchase
equipment detailed in the Bid specifications and Vendors response, attached hereto and
incorporated herein by this reference, in the amount of$122,134.77 for the procurement of
Hoses, Nozzles, Shutoff Valves and Tips.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 5th day of December, 2023.

This City has purchased three new fire engines that are currently scheduled to arrive in the next
couple of months. The equipment being purchased from Cascade Fire and Safety is to outfit the
new engines.
