RE: YAKIMA AIR TERMINAL—MCALLISTER FIELD, YAKIMA, WA
EAST GA APRON REHABILITATION PROJECT
FAA AIP 3-53-0089-047-2020 GRANT AMENDMENT REQUEST
Dear Chelsea,
The purpose of this letter is to request an amendment to FAA Grant 3-53-0089-047-2020. The grant
provided funding for apron rehabilitation, which included demolition, new pavement, apron lighting,
electrical cabling/conduit, storm drain pipe replacement, pavement marking removal, and new pavement
markings.
During construction, there were two change orders, and one engineering services agreement supplement.
A summary of changes that affected the overall project costs are as follows:
• Change Order#1: Additional electrical conduit and conductors were required because existing
conduit/circuits were not routed exactly as expected, which increased costs by$13,212.60.
• Change Order#2: Revisions to tiedown layouts were required to avoid a concrete electrical duct
bank, which increased the number of days allocated for construction, but did not increase
contractor construction costs.
• Engineering Services Agreement Supplement: A supplement to engineering services was
necessary to account for additional construction days, additional geotechnical testing, and
additional coordination/delays in completing punch list items. This supplement increased
construction costs by$29,982.13.
• Differences in Bid Item Quantities: Final constructed quantities varied significantly compared to
design estimates for several bid items. Variations were mostly attributed to FAA specification
permitted tolerances in material thicknesses and areas of existing pavement that was thicker than
anticipated based on available information during design. These variations increased the
construction costs by$96,728.64.
The original grant amount was issued in the amount of$2,261,362.00. The revised total project cost
eligible for FAA funding is $2,401,286.29 which equates to a 6.2% increase in construction costs.
The original grant was funded at 100% FAA participation. The amendment will be at 90% FAA
participation as follows:
• Original Grant Amount(100% FAA participation)=$2,261,362.00
1404.
till Total ALP eligible costs= $2,401,286.29
oi• P ifference between original grant amount and total eligible costs: $139,924.29(shortfall)

• Final Airport Share= $13,993.29
• Amendment Amount Requested=$125,931.00
Approval of this amendment will increase the grant amount of AIP 3-53-0089-047-2020 by$125,931.00
from $2,261,362.00 to $2,387,293.00. If you have any questions or need additional documentation, please
do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you very much for your assistance.
