SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The City of Yakima has received from Garry L. Griggs, Vera R. Griggs and William J.
Frodsham, a Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation for their properties located at the
intersection of N 80 Avenue and Scenic Drive. They are the owners of four of the six parcels
within this 18.78 acre proposed annexation and their notice accounts for 75.5% of the area's
assessed value of $3,495,300.
At this time City Council is being asked to act upon this request and to approve the City's
Standard Motions A & B as they pertain to annexations. Standard Motion "A" reads as follows:
• "1 move that today, October 7, 2008 be set as the time of a meeting with the initiating parties
who have signed a Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation Proceedings, the initiating
parties being as follows:
Garry L. Griggs, Vera R. Griggs and William J. Frodsham
Standard Motion "B" reads as follows: (cont.)

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Adopt motions A & B.
BOARD RECOMMENDATION: On October 1, 2008 the Council Economic Development
Committee met to review the this annexation request and following discussion voted to
recommend the intitiation of this annexation to the Council as a whole.
