Minutes of.the 9/18/08 Meeting

Present: Assistant Mayor Cawley, Council Member McClure, Ester Huey and Henry
Beauchamp
Absent: Council Member Johnson, Chair
Staff: Linda Watkins, Deputy Clerk
Subject: Southeast Community Center Advisory Board,
Goal: Review applications to determine who qualifies and who needs to be
interviewed
Action:
Reviewed the 16 applications and narrowed it down to 11 potential for a 7- member
board. Interviews will be conducted with five of the eleven (the others were well-
known). Interviews with the appointing committee, Ester Huey and Henry Beauchamp
will be held on Monday, September 29th from 3 -5 p.m. 20 minutes will be scheduled
between applicants. Applicants to be interviewed are:
Bobbie Carter d
Aaron Case
Elizabeth Figueroa
Ken Lewis .
Gloria Hernandez
Martha Gamboa
Cally Price in the City Manager's office will schedule the interviews. If the applicant is
not available for the interview, they will. be advised that their application will be used as
the basis for the decision. No alternative dates will be available.
The meeting adjourned about 3:45 p.m.
