Cook, Director of Community & Economic Development CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Alice Klein, Assistant Planner, 575 -6693 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Hordan Planning Services on behalf of Doug Christen and the Union Gospel Mission has submitted a petition for the right -of -way vacation of the north /south alley located south of Oak Avenue between Gordon Road on the west and North 1st street and a vacated portion of North Front Street on the east: • That portion of the dedicated alley beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 10, Block 6, Central Washington Addition to North Yakima, as recorded in Volume "B" of Plats, Page 410 33, records of Yakima County Washington, then east a distance of 20 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 6, of said subdivision, then south along the west line of Tots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 a distance of 200 feet, then west a distance of 20 feet, to the southwest corner of Lot 6 of said subdivision, then north along the east line of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, a distance of 200 feet, to the northeast corner of Lot 10 of said subdivision and the point of beginning. This vacation is being requested to allow the adjacent property owners to use the vacated right -of -way as private property. You are being asked to set the date for this open record public hearing before Hearing Examiner by resolution for September 25, 2008. On September 25, 2008, The Hearing Examiner held an open record public hearing to consider the vacation petition. On October 9, 2008, the Hearing Examiner issued his recommendation for the approval of this petition. You are now being requested to set December 9, 2008 as the hearing date for City Council consideration of the Hearing Examiner's recommendation.
