Memorial Hospital Campus Expansion Planned Action The hospital has been working extensively with the Barge-Chestnut Neighborhood Association. The document discussed is a projected plan of construction and what the final project would look like. Eventually the City Council will be presented with an ordinance for the environmental review plan. 2. Update on Cosen House - 201 S. 8 St. According to his most recent report, the buyer is attempting to acquire insurance on the home. However, he has been not been able to find an insurance company that will cover the home. He has also been looking for financing to rehabilitate the property but has had difficulty doing so, The City will continue to receive updates on the buyer's process of rehabilitating the home every ninety days. 3.. Discuss neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) The NSP agreement allows the City of Yakima to purchase foreclosed properties and redevelop them. "Redevelop" is defined as rehabilitation if possible, or if not, demolition followed by new construction. Staff made a request is to send the NSP grant contract with the Department of Commerce to full Council for approval. The grant is for $650,000. The recommendation was approved. 4., Public Input on the Consolidated Plan The last Public Input meeting was on September 29, 2009. The 30 day written - p i on October 1, 2009andill conclude on 0 2009. The items included in the Consolidated Plan were discussed. Other Business The request to approve an employee of the City of Yakima for the DPA program was denied and referred to Michael Morales. Lover, Chairman
