Study for Replacement of the Police Sub - station currently located at the Yakima
Airport.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
On June 10, 2008 the Yakima City Council authorized the execution of an architectural services
agreement with LCA Architects, P. A. of Boise, Idaho for the purpose of conducting a comprehensive
feasibility study into the replacement of the Police Substation currently located at the Airport and the
expansion of the Yakima City Jail. The Council elected to phase the studies of these two projects to
take place separately, with the Substation replacement to be explored first, after which Jail expansion
would be studied.
LCA Architects, P. A. have completed the first phase of the feasibility study related to Substation
replacement and will be providing a presentation of their findings for Council consideration.
