The first list includes various committees, commissions, boards, and task forces on which Council members serve. The list is divided into four distinct categories: 1) City of Yakima Council Committees — These are standing committees of the Council which consist only of Council members • 2) Yakima City Council Appointees to Other Boards, Committees, Commissions, Task Forces, etc. — These primarily include governing bodies of various local and regional organizations on which representation by the Council is requested (or in some cases, required) 3) Filled by Mayor (or Mayor's Designee) — These include positions on various governing bodies which, by statute or some other requirement, are to be filled by the mayor or a designee of the mayor 4) State Boards, Committees, Commissions, etc. — These include governing bodies of statewide organizations on which Council members may be invited to serve The second list includes current responsibilities and /or pending assignments of standing Council Committees. On both lists, Vacancy indicates positions to which former Council Member Norm Johnson was previously appointed.
