HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2023-071 Resolution authorizing $125,000 of ARPA Funds for air service fundV41*91-RIM IC 0 10 1$X:&i1F*1E1U A RESOLUTION authorizing the use of $125,000 of ARPA Funds to support the development of additional air service at Yakima Air Terminal McAllister Field. ol 111111 111 11111 Rill ;1 1 �!11 1!11 1 ; I 1=41 2 0 . 0 WHEREAS, Yakima Air Terminal McAllister Field has the opportunity to restore the early morning departure and late night arrival air service; and, WHEREAS, the City is partnering with the Yakima County Development Association to raise the additional necessary funds to support restoring the early morning and late night arrival 2ir service; and WHEREAS, the City received funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPAI, that allows for aid to impacted industries such as travel, tourism, and hospitality experiencing negative economic impacts of COVID-19; and M 11-7J FS;1 0 ILOJ PJ 019J 1q91111 YALU K- 11AEREAS, the City Council agrees that an investment in the development of air servic�; for commercial flights is a worthy objective that is in the best interest of the residents, business community, and the City of Yakima, and authorizes a one-time expenditure of One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000) payable to YCDA for the City's share in the efforts to establish an "Air Service Development" Fund, said amount to be paid from the City of Yakima's ARPA Grant now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager is hereby authorized to provide a one-time expenditure of One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000) payable to YCDA for the City's share in th efforts to establish an "Air Service Development" Fund, said amount from the City of Yakima's ARPA Grant for support in the development of additional air service at the Yakima Air Terminall McAllister Field Airport.
