Conclusion and/or Staff Recommendation = The staff strongly recommends this project. This project has been delayed over 20 years due to possibility of building a new fire station 94. This possibility has not been realized nor does it seem a viable alternative. Crews have been living in substandard conditions for a municipal building. The women's restroom was built in the coatroom by firefighters nearly ten years ago. The sleeping quarters for men and women are separated by sheets of plywood installed by the crews. I would like to continue this process with the firm of Brockway Opfer Raab for several reasons. 1. This firm remodeled station 92, built station 93, built the training tower, and remodeled the training offices. They have a lot of experience with emergency services buildings. 2. This firm has a track record with the city of completing projects in a professional and timely manor. 3. I was involved in the station 92 project in the second half of the project. Brockway Opfer Raab showed me that they were forthright and represented the city in the utmost manor. This firm demands quality out of the construction company and also demands that the builder provide all services as promised in the contract. 4. The firm of Brockway Opfer Raab has already done preliminary drawings and projections by request of Steve Scott as part of another building project. All drawings were retained and updated by Brockway Opfer Raab concerning this project. 1110 ‘,20-ze-v • CONSU ANT` INTERVIEW EVALUATION Fir FIRM: Traho Architecture 4/52 `06 REVIEWER: Dave Willson DATE January 2009 Question Rating Weight Score Comments (l to 5) Does your firm have experience with projects in emergency services 4e s buildings ID Are you available to start work on a 1320 sq. ft. addition to a fire station pc olonbt - beginning in March Do you have experience working with the City of Yakima on City I 3 Ves CAp• -iid r,...te - construction projects Total Score Rating Range 1 -5, 5 = Excellent, 3 Average, 1 = Poor Weight Relative value of question Score Rating x Weight = Score Total Score Summation of scores for all questions CONSULTANT INTERVIEW EVALUATION FORM FIRM: Brockway Opfer Raab Architecture REVIEWER: Dave Willson DATE January 2009 Question Rating Weight Score Comments to 5) Does your firm have experience with projects, in emergency services 1 Sta, 91 d,r;►► - tower - 1 0 Sfia. 92 V a. i ri riy vices buildings sta Are you available to start work on a 1320 sq. ft. addition to a fire station 3 , des di ro , eat drawl 5 s a\re y ro vv.
