Neighborhood Historic District Nomination to the Yakima Register of Historic Places

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Set Date of June 16, 2009, for a Closed Record Public Hearing for Council consideration of the
Barge- Chestnut Neighborhood Historic District Nomination to Yakima Register of Historic
Places.
The Barge- Chestnut Neighborhood Association has initiated nomination procedures for
designation review of 216 properties which will comprise Phase I of those properties located
within the Barge- Chestnut Neighborhood to be placed on the Yakima Register of Historic
0 Places. Phase I will include those properties located east of 32 Avenue, west of 24 Avenue,
south of Barge Street and north of Walnut Street.
On May 28, 2009 the Historic Preservation Commission issued a written recommendation for
approval of this nomination.
