ITEM TITLE: Apple Award for Rich Hunt

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
On August 10th, 2022, Water Service Specialist, Rich Hunt, assisted a Yakima resident by the
name of Norma, who experienced a fall in the field on the North side of the intersection of 44th
Ave and Webster Ave. The fall led to a wound, which Mr. Hunt cared for by placing paper towels
on the wound to stop the bleeding. Mr. Hunt reported the incident and had 9-1-1 on speaker and
stayed on the premises to ensure the resident remained conscious until the medics arrived on the
scene.
The medic was grateful with Mr. Hunt for taking the time to provide immediate and temporary care
until they arrived.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests that The City Council recognize Mr. Hunt as an asset to The City of
Yakima with the presentation of an Apple Award.
