R-2022-151 A RESOLUTION authorizing a Grant Agreement with the US. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration to provide funding assistance for four Paratransit ADA vans. WHEREAS, in 2022, the City of Yakima (City) will order four paratransit ADA equipped vans as part of Yakima Transit's capital vehicle replacement plan; and WHEREAS, in 2022, the US. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) opened up a grant funding opportunity under Federal Transit Administration FY2019 and FY 2020 Section 5339(a) Formula Funds; and WHEREAS, Yakima Transit applied for funding on March 24, 2022, and was awarded funding, on September 8, 2022 in the amount of $367,454; and WHEREAS, the four vans that will be ordered December of 2022 and will be delivered on or around March of 2024; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City and the FTA to enter into an agreement setting forth the terms, conditions, and requirements for allocating this funding; now; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into Grant Agreement WA-2022-054-00 with US. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration to fund four para-transit vans; is authorized to accept said grant funds to be applied to the purposes specified above; and is further authorized to complete any other forms necessary to procure the grant and/or grant funding. Yakima Transit was awarded $367,454 on September 8, 2022. This grant award requires a 15% match in which Yakima Transit will allocate $55,118 towards the purchase of the vehicles. The Paratransit vans will be ordered in December 2022 and will be delivered approximately in March of 2024. It is necessary for the City of Yakima to enter into Grant Agreement WA-2022-054-00 with FTA for allocation of this funding.
