ITEM TITLE: Approval of Mike Morrisette to Airport Board

SUMMARY EXPLANATION: In accordance with the Joint Air Terminal Operations Agreement
dated June 30, 1982, membership of the Yakima Air Terminal - McAllister Field Board is to be
comprised of five individuals, two appointed by the City, two by the County, and one to be
selected by those four appointees subject to approval by the City and County. The jointly
selected position being vacated at the end of June, the Board, at their June 25, 2009 meeting,
selected Mike Morrisette to serve on the Board. Yakima County has recently approved the
appointment of Mr. Morrisette.
Mr. Morrisette is the current Executive Director of the Yakima Chamber of Commerce, a post
he has held for the past four years. It is the Board's opinion that Mr. Morrisette's knowledge,
experience, skills and energy render him an excellent fit for the position. This appointment, if
approved, would be effective immediately and continue through June 30, 2013.
