For Meeting of: October 4, 2022 ITEM TITLE: Open record public hearing to consider the Yakima Planning Commission's recommendation on a Comprehensive Plan Amendment (CPA#001-22) request submitted by the City of Yakima Planning Division SUBMITTED BY: Joan Davenport,AI CP, Community Development Director Joseph Calhoun, Planning Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: City of Yakima Planning Division submitted and initiated a Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment (CPA) and Environmental Review applications for five parcels from Low Density Residential to Community Mixed-Use. After holding a study session on July 27, 2022, and a public hearing on August 10, 2022, the Yakima Planning Commission recommended approval of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment application, with the Findings being signed by the chair on August 24, 2022. In accordance with YMC 16.10.090, the City Council shall direct planning staff to prepare legislation to approve, approve with conditions, or deny each amendment under consideration; and at a subsequent City Council meeting enact an Ordinance adopting the decision reached at the public hearing.
