HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/23/1967 Business Meeting r 245 JANUARY 23, 1967 The City Council met in regular session, Mayor Larson presiding, Councilmen Brown, Lambert, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson, City Manager Smith and City Attorney Andrews present on roll call. Councilman Kurbitz absent on roll call. It was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Brown that Councilman Kurbitz be excused from this meeting: carried, Brown, Lambert, Lar- son, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. The Invocation was given by Councilman Lynch. The minutes of the regular meeting of January 16, 1967, having been duly certified accurate by two Councilmen, and no one present wishing to have said minutes read publicly, Mayor Larson declared said minutes approved as recorded. MOVED by Lynch, seconded by McNeice that Ordinance No. 874 providing for the issuance and sale of general obligation bonds of the city in the amount of $698,000 to provide for funds to pay for making certain improvements to the Yakima Municipal Airport and creating a bond redemption fund, be passed as read: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Kurbitz absent. ORDINANCE NO. 874, AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yakima, Washington, providing for the issuance and sale of general obligation bonds of the city in the principal amount of $698,000 for the purpose of providing part of the funds to pay the cost of making certain capital improvements to the municipal airport of the city; creating a bond redemption fund for the payment of the principal of and interest on said bonds; providing the date, form, terms, maturities and covenants thereof and for unlimited tax levies to pay the principal thereof and interest thereon; and declaring an emergency. MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Brown that Ordinance No. 875 creating the Airport Improvement Fund and a new chapter of the Yakima Municipal Code, be passed as read: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Kurbitz absent. City Attorney Andrews explained that this fund will be separate from the regular ° airport fund. ORDINANCE NO. 875, AN ORDINANCE creating the Airport Improvement Fund as a special fund; specifying the purposes of such fund; designating the source of funds therefor; creating Chapter 3.70 as a new Chapter of the City of. Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. MOVED by Lambert, seconded by Robinson that Ordinance No. 876 relating to animal licenses, specifying the fees and amending the Yakima Municipal Code, be passed as read: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Kurbitz absent. City Attorney Andrews explained that this Ordinance will replace Ordinance No. 866 in which the fees on Dog Kennel, less than ten dogs, and Dog kennel, ten or more dogs, had been copied wrong. • ORDINANCE NO. 876, AN ORDINANCE relating to animal licenses and specifying the fees there- for; amending Section 6.22.050 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. . MOVED by Lambert, seconded by Brown that Resolution No. D -1037 authorizing the execution of an agreement with the Boeing Company for the use of the Yakima Municipal Airport for training purposes for 1967, be passed as read: carried, Brown,. Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Kurbitz absent. . RESOLUTION NO. D -1037, A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Yakima to execute an agreement with The Boeing Company. MOVED by McNeice, seconded by Lambert that Resolution No. D -1038 authorizing payment of $28.15 to Frank and Myrtle McKinley in settlement of a Damage Claim, be passed as read: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye on roll call. Kurbitz absent. RESOLUTION NO. D -1038, A RESOLUTION authorizing payment of $28.15 to Frank and Myrtle McKinley in settlement of a Damage Claim. A damage claim in the amount of $122.17, having been filed with the City Clerk on January 18, 1967, by Eugene and Helen Naff for damages to their car when it slid into a fire hydrant.which projected out beyond the curb, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Lambert that said damage claim be referred to the City Manager and Staff for study and recommenda- tion: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Kurbitz absent. A damage claim having been filed with the City Clerk on January 23, 1967 by Mrs. Stanley F. Frisch, 412 S. 7th Avenue for an undetermined amount for damages caused when two trees were cut down in front of her home, it was MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Robinson that said damage claim be referred to the City Manager and Staff for study and recommendation: carried, Brown, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, McNeice and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Kurbitz absent.
