The City Council met in regular session, Mayor Larson, Councilmen Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Lynch and Robinson and City Manager and City Attorney Andrews present on roll call The invocation was given by Councilman Brazier. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 28, 1965, having been corrected and duly certi- fied accurate by two Councilmen and no one present wishing to have said minutes read publicly, Mayor Larson declared said minutes approved as corrected and recorded. This being the time fixed for the hearing on Petition No. 335 as filed by California Pack- ing Corporation requesting vacation of portion of Pine Street and the Planning Commission having recommended the vacation of said property, it was MOVED by Lambert, seconded by Bro that Ordinance No. 669 providing for said vacation be passed as read; carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, and Robinson voting aye, Lynch voting nay on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. 669, vacating a portion of Pine Street in the City of Yakima, Washington. A Notice of Intention to commence annexation proceedings having been filed with the City Clerk on. July 2, 1965, by W. L. Fulk for the property located between 5th and 7th Avenues and Pierce and West Washington Aves., and the signer of said notice . being present at this meeting, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Lambert that this date, July 6, 1965, be set as t he time of meeting with the initiating party: carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. The initiating party, Mr. W. L. Fulk, having stated tot he Council that the area to be annexed is willing to assume its share of the city's existing indebtedness, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Lynch that the annexation proposed by said party be accepted by the City of Yakima, and that the area to be annexed be required to assume its share of the city's existing indebtedness; carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Petition No. 386 have been filed with the City Clerk on June 29, 1965, by John Minaglia and Una F. Minaglia et al requesting the rezone of certain properties located at 2703 and 2709 Nob Hill Boulevard, it was MOVED by Lambert, seconded by Brown that said petition be referr. •d to the Planning Commission for s tudy and recommendation: carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Petition No. 387 having been filed with the City Clerk on June 30, 1965, by Gene A. Johnson for Mayfair Tavern, Inc., requesting formation of a Local Improvement District for the paving of East Lenox Avenue from South 1st Street to approximately 400 feet west, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Lynch that said petition be referred to the City Manager and staff for study and recommendation: carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. Petition No. 388 having been filed with the City Clerk by Clarence E. McBeth et al on July 2, 1965, it was MOVED by Robinson, seconded by Brown that said petition for annexation be referred to the City Manager and Planning Commission for study and recommendation: carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch, and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. An ordinance appropriating 2,300 from unappropriated monies in the Current Expense Fund IIF to the 1965 Budget for special election on cable TV expense, having been read in its entirety, was ordered laid on t he table for one week or until the regular meeting of the City Council to be held July 12, 1965. CH Consulting Engineers, having presented for payment Monthly Estimate No. 14 on the Sewage Treatment Plant and Industrial Waste Pump Station Additions under contract to G. R. Leischner Construction Company in the amount of $32,357.54, it was moved by Lynch, seconded by Robinson that said, report dated June 28, 1965, be accepted and Estimate No. 14 as therein set forth be approved and payment of 32,357.54 is hereby authorized for payment: carried, Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Larson, Lynch and Robinson voting aye by voice vote. The City Engineer reporting the completion of the following Local Improvement Districts: L.I.D. No. 925 - North 46th Ave. and various other Paving District; L.I.D. No. 926 - South 28th Ave. Widening; L.I.D. No. 927 - South Half of Richey Road - 29th Ave. to 30th Ave. Paving District; L.I.D. No. 932 - West Walnut Curb Gutters & Surfacing District; it was MOVED by Lynch, seconded by Robinson that August 2, 1965, be fixed as the time for hearing on the assessment rolls for said Districts and that the City Clerk give due notice by publication and to each property owner as required by statute: carried,. City Manager George Smith stated it has been determined that over 505 but less than 605 of the property owners in L.I.D. #940 - "Nob Hill Boulevard Arterial Street Improvement"- have protested this improvement thus precluding this district from any ruling handed down in the case of the protesting property owners in Seattle. There being no further business to come before the Council, it was MOVED by Kurbitz, seconded by Lynch that we do now adjourn at the hour of 3:30 p.m.: carried., Brazier, Brown, Kurbitz, Lambert, Lynch and Robinson vo '.g aye by voice vote.
