WHEREAS, the City owns one used 1989 Chevrolet Caprice police car, equipment number 1139, license number 06923D, for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which is surplus to the Leeds of the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Wapatrt Police Department has offered nine hundred dollars ($900.00) for said porAce car which is 6. reasonable price for said vehicle; and WHEREAS, the City Council fmds that it would be : n the best interest of the City to sell this police cal -:forthwith rather than sell it at the public auction of City surplus equipment at a later date, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO JNCII. OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1989 Chevrolet Caprice police car, equipment number 1139, license number 06923D, to be surplus to the needs of the City of YaA ma and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell said police car to the City of Wapato Police Department for nine hundred dollars ($900 00) plus sales tax. The car is scheduled to be sold at auction next fall. The City of Wapato Police Department is requesting to purchase this unit for the price of $900. The unit they desire is a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice, Equipment #1139, License # 06923D. The price of $900 is a reasonable price for a surplus police vehicle. Staff recommends that the City Council declare this unit surplus to our need and authorize the sale of the vehicle to the City of Wapato Police Department for the price of $900 plus tax.
