Gentlemen:
This letter shall serve as confirmation of our telephone conversation
of June 27, 1995 regarding basic fire and EMS protection for the
Central Washington State Fairgrounds.
As discussed, due to the sudden and unannounced decision by Fire
District 11 (Broadway) to cease operating as an active fire district,
the Fair Association is forced to secure temporary protection for the
fairgrounds.
Accordingly, it is agreed that commencing at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday,
July 1, 1995, or such later time as Fire District 11 ceases to
provided coverage, the City of Yakima shall assume responsibility for
the basic fire and EMS protection service for the Central Washington
State Fairgrounds on a month-to-month basis.
This month-to-month service shall continue with the understanding that
the Fair Association and the City of Yakima shall, in the interim,
aggressively seek final resolution of this situation.
Further, the Central Washington Fair Association agrees to pay the
City of Yakima the sum of Two Thousand One Hundred Sixty -Six Dollars
and Sixty Seven Cents ($2,166.67) per month for each month of service
provided by the City of Yakima. For any partial month in which
service is provided, the Fair Association shall pay the appropriate
pro -rated amount for said month.
Please know we are deeply grateful to the City of Yakima for stepping
up to this situation without hesitation and thereby insuring the
safety of these fairgrounds.
Approved this 1510day of
June, 1995
Sincerely,
CENTL WASHINGTON STATE FAIR CITY OF YAKIMA
GREG G. STEWART
