A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager of the City of Yakima to
execute an agreement with the United States Government to
secure funding for four police officers, equipment, and
related programs under the 1994 Federal Crime Bill.
WHEREAS, the 1994 Federal Crime Bill provided for funding to cities to
hire additional police officers and obtain equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Yakima to accept funding from the federal government
to hire four additional police officers within the City of Yakima, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and
directed to execute an agreement with the United States Government to secure
federal funding for four new police officers, equipment, and related
programs, subject to review and approval of the written agreement as to form
by the City Attorney.
