A RESOLUTIONauthorizing the City Manager to purchase supplies,
materials, and/or equipment from or through the United
States Government without calling for bid pursuant to RCW
39.32.090.
WHEREAS, the General Services Administration (GSA) of the United
States Government has conducted a public bidding process pursuant to federal
procurement laws to obtain the lowest available pricing for various supplies,
materials, furniture, and equipment to be purchased by the United States
Government; and
WHEREAS, federal legislation has been enacted to make such GSA
pricing available to state and local governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, the federal government has determined that the GSA pricing
for supplies, materials, furniture, and equipment are the lowest available
prices; and
WHEREAS, RCW 39.32.090 authorizes cities to purchase supplies,
materials, and/or equipment from or through the United States Government
without calling for bids, notwithstanding any law or charter provision to the
contrary, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase supplies, materials,
and/or equipment from or through the General Services Administration of the
United States Government without calling for bids pursuant to RCW 39.32.090.
