A RESOLUTION authorizing the purchase of trench shoring without calling for bids.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima desires to purchase a modular trench shoring
system meeting all applicable safety standards and constructed of electrically non
conductive material, and
WHEREAS, Chapter 1 80 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code requires the use
of a public bid process for the purchase of individual units of equipment which exceeds
$25,000 00; and
WHEREAS, the total price for the entire shoring system will exceed $25,000 00,
and
WHEREAS, diligent research by the members of the City Water and Irrigation
Division reveals that there is but a sole source for the purchase of the aforementioned
shoring which is the Comcore Utilities Products, Inc. of Falls Church, Virginia, and
WHEREAS the City Council finds that the aforementioned specifications are
rationally related to public need and that no valid legal purpose would be served by
advertising for bids for the aforementioned items, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase a modular
shoring system as described from Comcore Utility Products, Inc of Falls Church, Virginia
for a price not to exceed $28,000 00
