ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 13th day of September, 1994. ATTEST: CITY CLERK To: From: Gary Vance, Battalion Chief Subject: Surplus Equipment Sale IMIDRANDUM September 2, 1994 K. Alan Chronister, Fire Chief tri We have a tanker -pumper apparatus and thirteen ladders which no longer meet the needs of our department. We have typically sent all surplus equipment to the city auctions for disposal, however, because most of our equipment is specialized, the city has not received a fair market price for the equipment. This was proved two years ago, when we were given permission to have a "garage" sale of fire equipment. That effort was very successful as we received good market value and eliminated the cost of an outside company to sell our equipment. It is my recomrnendation that we ask the City Council to declare these items as surplus, and allow us to sell the tanker -pumper to the highest bidder with a minimum bid of $7,500.00. The apparatus is a 1960 GMC tanker -pumper with a 1,200 gallon tank and a 750 gallon per minute Hale two stage pump. License number is: 08316 D. The ladders would be sold at a set price dependent upon size and condition. The ladder length, type, condition, and prices are: LENGTH TYPE CONDITION PRICE 14 ft Extension, solid beam Veryyood Very good — $100.00 200.00 30 ft Extension, solid beam 30 ft Extension, solid beam Very good Very good Very good Good 200.00 250.00 190.00 90.00 35 ft Extension, solid beam 28 ft Extension, solid beam 12 ft Attic 16 ft Roof, truss beam Very good Very good 80.00 70.00 14 ft Roof, solid beam 16 ft Roof, truss beam Very good Very good Very good 80.00 350.00 350.00 35 ft Extension, solid beam, tormentors 35 ft Extension, solid beam, tormentors 40 ft Extension, solid beam, tormentors Very good 400.00 28 ft Extension, truss beam *Poor 100.00 *Did not pass annual ladder test.
