NOTICE OF HEARING
1994
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the assessment roll for irrigation
maintenance assessments for the year 1994 for the irrigation
districts within the City of Yakima, Washington, designated
below, is now on file in the office of the Yakima City Clerk and
open for public inspection. That said roll proposes an irrigation
maintenance assessment rate to be assessed on each square foot of
land within each lot, tract or parcel within each of said
districts, as specified below and set opposite each designated
district.
Each irrigation district is separately owned, operated, and
maintained; by law, each district must be self-supporting.
Assessments are based on charges for water shares, and all other
costs necessary to operate and maintain the system. Separate
accounts are maintained for each district.
NOTICE IS FURTHER HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing on said
assessment roll will be held by the Yakima City Council in the
Council meeting room at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, on
Tuesday, May 3, 1994, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m., or as
soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. All persons who may
desire to object to said assessment roll are hereby notified and
directed to make such objections in writing which shall state
clearly the grounds thereof and to file the same with the Yakima
City Clerk at or prior to the said date fixed for said hearing.
At the time and place fixed for hearing. At the time and place
fixed for hearing as aforesaid and at such other times to which
the said hearing may be continued, the City Council will sit as a
Board of Equalization for the purpose of considering said
assessment roll, and at said hearing or hearings the City Council
will consider any objections made to said assessment roll or part
thereof, and will correct, revise, raise, lower, change or modify
said assessment roll or any part thereof, or set aside said
assessment roll and order that such assessments be made de novo,
all as to the City Council shall appear just and equitable. At
the conclusion of said hearing or hearings, the City Council will
confirm said assessment roll by ordinance.
The number and name of each irrigation District referred to in
this notice, and the proposed rates of assessment per square foot
