. ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING — FEBRUARY 23, 1973
The City Council met in session at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 23, 1973, at the Cosmopoli-
tan Chinook Hotel, Yakima,Washington•. • - •
Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown,•Howard C. Cole, Betty
Edmondson, Don Schussler and Bill Whitaker. Also present were City Manager Craig McMicken
and City Clerk 'Jack Daniel.

The Council discussed agenda items to be considered at the joint meeting with the Parks and
Recreation Commission to be held at 6:30 P.M., this date. Also discussed were the Federal
Revenue Sharing pr•ioritie,s• to be considered at the retreat meeting scheduled for Saturday,
February 24, 1973, at Whistlin' Jack's. No decisions were made at this time.* •
The meeting adjourned at 1:30 P.M. to meet at 6:30 P.M., this date, at the Flight Deck
Restaurant at the Yakima Air Terminal. •

ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING - FEBRUARY 23, 1973
The City Council and Parks Commission met in session at 6:30 P.M., February 23, 1973, at
the Flight Deck Restaurant.
Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray,Brown, Howard C. Cole, Betty
Edmondson, Jim Lust and Bill Whitaker. Schussler absent. Also present were City Manager
Craig McMicken and City Clerk Jack Daniel. Those present representing the Parks and Recre-
ation Commission were Chairman Mer Edmondson and members Don McGuinness, Jack Gustafson and
Dick Parker.
City Manager McMicken outlined the roles of the Park Commission and City Council and how
the Director of Parks and Recreation works through these administrative and legislative
channels.
Also discussed was a comparison between the proposed new Senior Citizen's Center and the
acquisition of the Masonic Temple property to be used as a Senior Citizen Center and multi-
use recreation center. The,se.were compared on the basis -o.f. costs, operating expenses,
program differences, and buildings.
Parks Director, Bill Hutsinpiller, discussed the overall park acquisition and development
program.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 P.M., to meet at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, February 24, 1973, at
Whistlin' Jack Lodge.
