A RESOLUTION:
adopting a schedule of fees for recreational
activities of the City of Yakima Department
o` Public Works, Division of Parks and
Recreation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Y:ANINIA:
The schedule, entitled "1994 Fee Schedule, Yakima Parks and
Recreation Division, Effective January 1, 1994," attached hereto, is
hereby adopted as the schedule of fees to be collected for the use by
individuals and organizations of the recreation facilities and for
participation in recreation activities provided by the City of Yakima,
Division of Parks and Recreation, commencing January 1, 1994.

1994 FEE SCHEDULE
YAKIMA PARKS & RECREATION DIVISION
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1994
CONTRACTED SERVICES.,
Organizations (associations, clubs, groups, etc.) contract with the City of Yakima Parks & Recreation for services such as
facilities reservations and scheduling, maintenance, supplies, administration, etc. The organizations pay for these services.
PROGRAM FEE FORMULA:
In determining fees for services and programs, the following formula will be used:
1) Program personnel wage and benefits* X total program hours;]pals.
2) Facility cost per hour X total program hours; plus
3) Depending on the particular program, the following costs will be included as needed:
a) Special Equipment
b) Material
c) Transportation
d) Insurance
e) Maintenance
f) Program Promotion
g) Other
Hilts 4) Administration of program (at least 10% of total costs);
equals 5) TOTAL COST OF THE PROGRAM;

by 6) Minimum number of participants (Minimum and maximum number of participants is
based on facilities, appropriate student/instructor ratio, and safety limits and is determined
by the supervisor and/or instructor;
equals 7) FEE FOR EACH PARTICIPANT
*Wages or salary may be calculated by the hour or by the unit (i.e. game, match, etc )
TAXES
Sales or other taxes are included in listed fee whenever necessary.
PROGRAM DISCOUNT FOR CITY OF YAKIMA RESIDENTS
As a benefit to City of Yakima Residents who participate in the following Parks and Recreation Programs in 1994, a
20% registration discount will be offered.
a. Special Interest Classes for both Youth and Adults.
b. Fisher Golf Lessons
c. Swimming Lessons.
d. Tennis Lessons.
e. Youth Sports
ADDITIONAL ADULT SPORTS FEE FOR NON -CITY RESIDENTS
For the following 1994 Adult Parks and Recreation sports programs, all non -City residents wishing to participate in a Parks
and Recreation Sports League will be charged an additional registration fee of 55.00.
a. Volleyball.
b. Basketball.
c. Fall Softball.

EXCEPTION
The additional registration fee of S5.00 will not be charged to non -City residents for the 1994 Summer Softball Program as
both Selah Parks and Recreation and Yakima Parks and'Recreation - while offering separate programs - have agreed to
mutually coordinate the 1994 Summer Softball Program to the benefit of the participants.

Comments: It is the overall philosophy that senior citizens, handicapped and youth activities may be subsidized by the
park fund whenever possible.

REFUND POLICY
/ Yakima Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine any of us activities as needed.
• Should Parks and Recreation cancel an activity, participants will be notified by phone and a full 100 percent refund
will be automatically initiated.
.� Participant -requested refunds will be granted up to three days before the registration deadline.
J Participant -requested refunds will be assessed a S5 processing fee per person per activity to be refunded.
./ Parucipant-requested refunds need to be accompanied by receipt.
.� No refund will be given for activities with a 55.00 fee or less.
./ Additionally, Parks and Recreation is unable to give cash refunds, partial or prorated refunds or refunds after activity
deadlines.
• All refunds are subject to Co of Yakima Finance Department procedures and payment schedules and require 15 to 30
days to process
