A RESOLUTION authorizing the sole source purchase of a Police Department
CD-ROM logging recorder.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima Police Department needs to replace an
existing Dictaphone reel-to-reel type logger to record all telephone conversations
and radio traffic; and
WHEREAS, there are substantial advantages to acquiring a CD-ROM
technology recorder, and
WHEREAS, an extensive search and investigation has revealed that only one
vendor currently offers CD-ROM logging recorders for purchase, i.e., Magnasync
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, it would be futile to call for bids regarding a CD-ROM logging
recorder since there is only a single source for this equipment, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase a
Magnasync Digital Voice Logging Recorder System Model No. 1020-S as a sole
source purchase without calling for bids.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 30thday of November , 1993.
