HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1993-049 SunfairRESOLUTION NO. R-93- 49 A RESOLUTION authorizing the execution of a tourist promotion agreement with the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima and the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association desire to arrange for tourist promotion services provided by the Association by use of a float in parades throughout Washington state and surrounding regions, and the City Council of the City of Yakima deems it to be in the best interests of the City that such an arrangement be carried out according to the provisions, terms, and conditions of the attached agreement and that it is in the best interest of the City that the attached agreement be executed,now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized and directed to execute a tourist promotion agreement with the Yakima Sunfair Festival Association for the purpose mentioned above, a copy of which is attached and by this reference made a part hereof. ATTEST: /� Mayor City Clerk ,rw)res!float.sc TOURIST PROMOTION AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT is entered into by and between the City of Yakima (City) and Yakima Sunfair Festival Association (Sunfair). In consideration for three thousand dollars ($3,000) appropriated by the City of Yakima, Sunfair shall provide the following tourist promotion services to the City of Yakima. Sunfair shall construct and artistically decorate a motorized parade float with a theme of "Buckles, Boots, & Spurs." This float shall remain the property of Sunfair. Sunfair shall display this float at a minimum of five (5) public parades throughout the Northwestern United States, including Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia during 1993. Sunfair shall use its best efforts in displaying this float to advertise and publicize the City of Yakima and its surrounding area in order to attract visitors and encourage tourist expansion in the Yakima area. Failure to abide b.) the terms of this agreement shall be grounds for refund of the entire amount of consideration. Sunfair shall submit documented invoices to the City's Department of Finance & Budget up to three thousand dollars ($3,000) for payment of float construction, maintenance, and transportation of the float through the City's accounts payable systems. By execution of this agreement, Sunfair hereby agrees to its terms and conditions. DATED this /day of May, 1993.
