SPECIAL MEETING
• YAKIMA CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 15, 1972 .
The City Council met in special session pursuant to due notice at 12 :00 noon, December
15, 1972, at the Chinook Hotel, Yakima, Washington.
Councilmen- present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown, Lenore Lambert, •
Don Schussler and Bill Whitaker. Also present was City Clerk Jack Daniel.
.There was discussion by the Council regarding citizens who have submitted their names
for consideration for appointment to fill the Council vacancy which will be created
when' Councilman Lambert departs. No decisions were made at this time.
Also briefly discussed was YVT Franchise Renewal hearing scheduled for the Council
meeting on December 18, 1972. No actions were taken at this time.
Council members present discussed the impact of Initiative 276 on presently constituted
City boards and-commissions.

City Clerk Jack Daniel briefed Council members present as to plans being developed to
comply with recent Federal rulings regarding Airport Security. He indicated that the
Council would have to act soon with respect to approving funds for alterations to the
Airport'conco urses which must occur before January'5, 1973. No actions were taken at
this time.
