SPECIAL MEETING .
YAKIMA CITY COUNCIL .
NOVEMBER 17, 1972

The City Council met in special session pursuant•to due notice at_12:00 noon., November
17,1972, at the Chinook Hotel, Yakima, Washington.
Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Jim Lust, Walter 'Robinson, and
Don Schussler.
There was discussion by the Council regarding the letter from downtown merchants in refer-
ence to'pedestrian crossings.on Second and Third Street•at the alley and south. of
Yakima Avenue. The question of liability was raised and whether or not a mid - block' pedes-
trian crossing was permitted by law. It was planned that these questions be •answered by
the Legal Department by Monday's meeting.

There was further discussion of possible. appointments for coming vacancies on the boards
and commissions. No decisions were made at this time.
The special meeting adjourned at 1:15 P.M. '
