HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1992-D6184 Steamer• RESOLUTION NO. /1 614 A RESOLUTION declaring one used steamer surplus and without value and authorizing its transfer to the Union Gospel Mission. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one used steamer located at the Yakima Center, and WHEREAS, said steamer is surplus to the needs of the Yakima Center and currently impedes the efficient use of storage space within the Yakima Center, and WHEREAS, the steamer has no realizable resale value; WHEREAS, the Union Gospel Mission has offered to pick up and install to receive and remove said steamer, and; WHEREAS, the disposal of said steamer under the terms and conditions of this resolution is in the best interest of the Yakima Center, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: 1. The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned steamer to be without value and surplus to the needs of the Yakima Center and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said steamer in a manner consistent with this resolution. 2. Said steamer is hereby transferred to the Union Gospel Mission. 3. This resolution shall have no effect unless it is subscribed by an authorized representative of the Union Gospel Mission. Wally also stated that he knows of no client that is in need or even considering a purchase of a used steamer. I would like this unit declared surplus, and possibly donated to the Union Gospel Mission, as they are an organization that does not currently have one and feed large amounts of people. They could pick up the steamer and it could be put to good use. We would appreciate your help in removing the surplus steamer from our facilities as soon as possible. Thank you.
