HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1992-D6076 HousingRESOLUTION NO. 6 C A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager of the City of Yakima to assign the approved contract from Washington State Department of Community Development for funding of the purchase and rehabilitation of a duplex for HIV infected community residents to the East Valley Reformed Church, who will be the legal owners. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima wishes to support and provide safe, decent and affordable housing for HIV infected citizens of this City and for which state funding is available from the Washington State Department of Community Development State Housing Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, many HIV infected citizens of the City of Yakima, living on fixed, monthly incomes at or below the 50 percent median family income level pay a disproportionate share of such income towards housing costs; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima deems it to be in the best interest of the City to assign the contract to the East Valley Reformed Church for such funding, for the purpose mentioned above; and WHEREAS, no transfer of funds from the State of Washington to the City has occurred and the City with the adoption of this Resolution will have complied with award assignment requirements stated in the January 21, 1992 letter of State of Washington Community Program Developer, Doug Hunter to the City's Office of Housing and Neighborhood Conservation, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to assign the 1991 Washington State Housing Trust Fund contract, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, with the Washington State Department of Community Development and the City Manager further is hereby designated as the official representative of the City to act in connection with the contract assignment and to provide such additional information as may be required.
