HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1992-D6060 Diebold Safe / MuseumRESOLUTION NO �` 6060 A RESOLUTION declaring one Diebold Safe surplus and without value and authorizing its transfer to the Yakima Valley Museum and Historical Association. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one Diebold Safe located in the City's Finance and Budget Department at City Hall; and WHEREAS, said safe is surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and currently impedes the efficient use of office space within the Finance and Budget Department area; and WHEREAS, said safe is valued at approximately $1,500.00, more or less, however, the cost of removal and. transport of said safe to a buyer exceeds its value and therefore renders this said safe valueless in the current market for such ob- jects; and WHEREAS, the donation of said safe under the terms and conditions of this resolution is in the best interest of the City of Yakima, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: 1. The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned safe to be without value and surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said safe in a manner consistent with this resolution. 2. Said safe is hereby donated to the Yakima Valley Historical Association, provided such Association removes said safe at its expense from City Hall prior to April 30, 1992 and said Association reimburse the City of Yakima tor any and all damages whatsoever incurred as a result of the removal of said safe from City Hall. 3. This resolution shall have no effect unless it is subscribed by an authorized representative of the Yakima Valley Museum and Historical Association. 1 (res/safe.jv) ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 1992.
