A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Attorney to execute an
agreement with' the Yakima County Prosecutor for
prosecution'services for the calendar year 1992.
WHEREAS, the Yakima County Prosecutor ,has offered to
perform prosecution of City in -custody arraignments and City
domestic violence cases for.$30,000.00 for the calendar year
1992; and
WHEREAS, the City lacks sufficient prosecutorial staff to
perform such services in an efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, .the City Council deems it to be in the best
interest of the City of Yakima to enter into the aforemen-
tioned agreement; now,. therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Attorney is hereby,authorized and directed to
execute the attached .and.incorporated "Letter of Agreement
Between the City of Yakima and Yakima County Prosecutor's
Office for 1992."

Prosecutor's Office for 1992
Dear Jeff:
In consideration.for Thirty Thousand. Dollars,($30,)00.00) payable
at the.rate of,Two Thousand Five Hundred:Dollars ($2,500.00) per
month, I understand that you will perform the following services
for the calendar:year 1992:
1. "In=custody".City,of Yakima .District Court arraignments.
2. Prosecution of City Of Yakima District Court domestic violence
cases.
This agreement may be terminated by either party after reasonable
notice to the other party.
Please indicate your acceptance by signing and returning a copy of
this letter to me.

Re: Domestic Violence and In -Custody Prosecutorial Services
Dear John:
Since our conversation and meeting a couple of weeks ago, I have
had an opportunity to review further our involvement in handling
in -custody arraignments and domestic violence cases on behalf of
the City of Yakima.
Based upon the caseload and increased costs by way of salaries
primarily, it will be necessary for us to increase the costs to a
total of $30,000.00 annually.
I will be out of the office for a couple of weeks, returning to
work on September 30. In the meantime, if you need further
