A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the City Manager of the City of
Yakima to execute and file a preapplication and upon
approval submit other required documents with the
Washington State Department of Community Development
for funding of the purchase and rehabilitation of a duplex
for HIV infected community residents.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima wishes to provide safe, decent and
affordable housing for HIV infected citizens of Yakima City and for which
state funding is available from the Washington State Department of
Community Development State Housing Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, many HIV infected citizens of the City of Yakima, living
on fixed, monthly incomes at or below the 50 percent median family
income level pay a disproportionate share of such income towards housing
costs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima deems it to be in
the best interest of the City that an application be filed for such funding
for the purpose mentioned above, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute and file the 1991 Washington State Housing Trust Fund
Application, including all understandings and assurances contained
therein, with the Washington State Department of Community Development
and the City Manager further is hereby designated as the official
representative of the City to act in connection with the grant request and
to provide such additional information as may be required.
