RESOLUTION,NO. T 5937
A RESOLUTION authorizing, ratifying, and adopting Amendment No. 1
to the grant agreement for federal assistance, between
the Federal Aviation Administration and the Yakima Air
Terminal Board for project number 3-53-0089-11.
WHEREAS, a Federal Aviation Administration grant (number 3-53-
0089-11) was executed by William F. Almon, Chairman, Yakima Air
Terminal Board on September 12, 1990, and ratified by the City of
Yakima on September 11, 1990, and Yakima County on September 04,
1990, and,
WHEREAS, it is desirous to the Federal Aviation Administration
and the Yakima Air Terminal Board to amend said grant to modify the
scope of work to be accomplished under said grant from:
Rehabilitate Runway 9-27 high Intensity runway
Lighting System (HIRL); Acquire Snow Removal Equip-
ment (Snow Blower); strengthen West 1000' Runway 9-
27;
to: Rehabilitate Runway 9-27 High Intensity Runway
Lighting System (HIRL); Acquire Snow Removal Equip-
ment (Snow Blower); Update Airport Layout Plan
(ALP); Construct Air Cargo Apron (Design Only);
Rehabilitate Taxiway Guidance Signs, and,
WHEREAS, The Federal Aviation Administration has requested
that as a condition precedent to payment by the United States of
the allowable costs incurred in accomplishing the amended project,
that the County of Yakima and the City of Yakima accept and
authorize the execution of said amendment, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to execute
Amendment Number One to Grant Agreement for Project No. 3-53-0089-
11, dated May 23, 1991. A true copy of such amendment is attached
hereto and incorporated herein.

AMENDMENT NUMBER 1 TO GRANT AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT NUMBER 3-53-0089-11
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (hereinafter referred to
as the "FAA") has determined it to be in the interest of the United
States that the Grant Agreement between the FAA, acting for and on
behalf of the United States and the City of Yakima, Washington and the
County of Yakima, Washington (hereinafter referred to as the
"Sponsor"), accepted by said Sponsor on the 12th day of September,
1990, to be amended as hereinafter provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, WITNESSETH:
That in consideration of the benefits to accrue to the parties hereto,
the FAA on behalf of the United States, on the one part, and the
Sponsor, on the other part, do hereby mutually agree as follows:
"Update Airport Layout Plan (ALP); Construct Air Cargo
Apron (Design only); Rehabilitate taxiway guidance
signs;" shall be added to the grant offer.
"Strengthen a portion of Runway 9/27" shall be deleted
from the grant offer.
The revised grant description shall be:
Rehabilitate Runway 9/27 high intensity runway lighting
(HIRL); Acquire snow removal equipment; Update Airport
Layout Plan (ALP); Construct Air Cargo Apron (Design
only); Rehabilitate taxiway guidance signs;
This Amendment shall expire unless it has been accepted by the Sponsor
on or before June 30, 1991.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to
said Grant Agreement to be duly executed.

The Airport Board accepted the amendment, by resolution, at their
May 23, 1991, meeting. As a condition of the grant the signature
of the Chairman of the Board, William F. Almon, must be authorized
and ratified by both the City of Yakima and Yakima County. The
deadline for acceptance of this amendment is June 30, 1991.
Therefore, would you please place the proposed resolution for the
amendment on the agenda of the next Council/Commission meeting for
