ZV.XEREAS, Yakima's three community hearth centers are a vital-part of our community's
hearth care system; and
ZV.X'EREAS, our community's hearth centers expand access to quality hearth care for air
people, helping to contain costs by encouraging prevention and integrating the delivery of primary
care with outreach, patient education, translation, and other enabling services; and
WRI REAS, during rational Community Wealth Center Week we annually recognize the
importance of these hearth centers for their role in providing affordable and accessible care; and
ZV.X'EREAS, these community hearth centers also pray a significant role as major local
employers and an important source of economic growth; and
WRIREAS, Yakima .9\reighborhoodWealth Services, partnering with the other community
hearth centers and many agencies in the City of Yakima, has led the effort to help uninsured
residents enroll in a hearth insurance plan that meets their needs and their budget,
PWLEREAS, on August 13 of this year, Yakima .9\reighborhoodWealth Services also
cerebrates its 40th Anniversary of service to the people of Yakima and Yakima County, growing from
a staff of five caring for about 20 patients to having over 200 physicians, nurses, dentists, and staff
providing hearth care and many other services to more than 21,000 patients each year,
NOW, `ZJ[ERSEFO12E, 1, Micah Cawley, Mayor of the City of Yakima and on behalf of the
Yakima City Council, do hereby proclaim the weekof August 9-15, 2015 as
a VA'IOJ VA.L ff!A.L D(C'E TEq V E7(„
in the city of Yakima and urge our community to recognize the multitude of ways in which
community hearth centers are transforming care, and congratulates Yakima .9\reighborhoodWealth
Services on 40 years of delivering comprehensive, high quality, cost effective, and accessible hearth
care to the people of Yakima and the Yakima valley.
