A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to execute a Quit Claim
Deed for certain surplus real property in the
vicinity of 5201 West Chestnut Avenue, Yakima,
Washington.
WHEREAS, the Yakima Valley Transportation Company con-
veyed to the City of Yakima an electric railroad system to-
gether with rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, portions of said electric railway system have
been abandoned; and
WHEREAS, that portion of the former YVT right-of-way
which is described in the attached and incorporated Quit Claim
Deed extends across a portion of property owned by George F.
Joseph 0.S., Inc., which right-of-way is used extensively for
industrial and commercial operations and is not compatible
with any future City use and is hereby declared to be surplus
property, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
the attached and incorporated Quit Claim Deed and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the City Attorney shall deliver said Deed to counsel
for George F. Joseph 0.S., Inc. upon receipt of $8,300.00.

QUIT CLAIM DEED
The City of Yakima hereby conveys and quit claims to GEORGE F.
JOSEPH ORCHARD SIDING, INC., a Washington corporation, in consider-
ation of EIGHT THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS and 00 /100
($8,300.00), all of its right, title, and interest including
rights -of -way formerly belonging to Yakima Valley Transportation
Company, on, across, and under:
All that part of the following described pro-
perty lying within the Northwest Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 21, Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M.
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the South-
east Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said
Section 21; thence East along the South line
thereof 8 feet; thence North, parallel with the
West line of the Southeast Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of said Section 21, a dis-
tance of 850 feet; thence East, at right an-
gles, 25 feet; thence North, parallel to the'
West line of the Southeast Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of said Section 21, to the
South right -of -way line of West Chestnut
Avenue; thence West, along said South right -of-
way line to the West line of the Southeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Sec-
tion 21; thence South along last said West line
to the point of beginning.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, being thereunto duly
