W. Beck & Associates for professional engineering services. ATTEST res beck.j) WV-1405-AA1-AA October 26, 1990 AMENDMENT NO. 1 To Professional Services Agreement with City of Yakima Dated May 19, 1989 The Professional Services Agreement between R. W. Beck and Associ- ates and the City of Yakima for the Chesterly Park Well and Pump Station is hereby amended as follows: PROJECT: Change name to "Domestic Water Well Project" PART I - SCOPE OF SERVICES Change Parts I and II to the following: I. General The project consists of developing a domestic water well to replace the capacity lost when the City closed its Raney wells. The work will proceed in three phases. First, a hydrogeologic survey of selected sites shall be performed and a report prepared for the City. Second, after a site has been selected, specifications will be prepared and issued for drilling the well. Third, a pump station and water main connecting the well to the City's existing system will be designed and contract docu- ments prepared. II. Well Survey and Construction 1. Hydrogeologic Survey and Report The Consultant will conduct a hydrogeologic survey of the Yakima area to evaluate the feasibility of developing a well with a capacity be- tween 2,000 and 3,000 gallons per minute (gpm) at one or more of sev- eral selected sites. The Consultant will provide a report summariz- ing hydrogeologic and engineering considerations and making recommen- dations resulting from the study. The City will determine the pre- ferred site for development. 2. Well Specifications The Consultant will prepare specifications for drilling a well at the proposed well site so that the City can advertise a contract to pros- pective well drillers. The Consultant shall prepare and deliver a camera-ready master of the specifications to the City for advertising and bidding the project. Amendment No. 1 -2- October 26, 1990 3. Services During Well Construction The Consultant shall attend pre -construction conference, monitor the well construction including full time (8 hours per day) on-site in- spection during drilling of the lower section, document well con- struction, prepare geologic log of the well, witness pump test and geophysical logging, and make recommendations for the design of the well and pump. Based on a water quality sample, the consultant shall identify any treatment requirements for the well. PART II - PAYMENT Change the first sentence in the third paragraph to the following: "On the basis of the Scope of Services outlined in this Agree- ment, the estimated total amount to be paid by the Client for services furnished and expenses reimbursed will be approximately $84,320. Except as specifically modified herein, the Professional Services Agreement between R. W. Beck and Associates and the City of Yakima shall re- main in full force and effect.
