Pursuant to a call by the Mayor, a special joint meeting of the Yakima City Council and
Yakima City Planning Commission was held at 8 :00 P.M. in the Council Chambers-at Yakima
• City Hall. :.
Councilmen present at the meeting were: Mayor Larson, Lenore Lambert, Wray Brown',:!Walter
Robinson, Don McNeice and .James Lust. Also in attendance were Councilmen- elect%Bert,
Bill Whitaker and Don Schussler. Planning Commission members in attendance were: Charles
Fowler, Eugene =Shields, Mrs. Bruce'Hudson, John Fairbrook, John Vandiver Walter:.:Philipp
and Ellis Cummins.
The City Manager reviewed a proposal entitled "Governing the Yakima Urban Area ", by which
the City and County -would agree on policies and procedures for governing the;Yakima urban.
area by intergovernmental cooperation. The Council members and Planning Commission.-members
discussed the proposal, but made no conclusions concerning -t. The Planning :Commission •
will study the matter further and subsequently make a reammendation to the. :C•ity :Council.•
concerning such proposal.
The special joint meeting adjourned at 10:05 P.M.
